Geneviève Rioux is present in television, theater and cinema. Tragic, moving and funny, she can play emotion with beauty and grace.
On television, she gave life to Simonne Chartrand (she won a Prix Gémeaux for that role) in the television series SIMONNE ET CHARTRAND. She also played in television programs such as L’HÉRITAGE (she won a prix Gémeaux for best supporting role), LES MACHOS, CASINO I ET II, UN GARS, UNE FILLE, LES POUPÉES RUSSES and ANNIE ET SES HOMMES. She is currently the host of LE TOUR DU JARDIN.
On stage, she played in L’HONNÊTE FILLE, LUV, LE MISANTHROPE, ROMÉO ET JULIETTE, (she won the GASCON ROUX award for the role of Juliette), OTHELLO, RUY BLAS and LE PORTIER DE LA GARE WINDSOR.
On the big screen, she was part of movies such as JACK PARADISE, 1ER JUILLET, BLUE LA MAGNIFIQUE, CRUISING BAR and CARGO. She had a memorable presence in the movie LE DÉCLIN DE L’EMPIRE AMÉRICAIN (she was nominated for the Genie for best supporting actress). Recently, she was part of the movie LA LACHETÉ by Marc Bisaillon and we will see her soon in his new movie, LA VÉRITÉ.
